Sarah Hyland Opens Up About Her Kidney Transplant

Sarah Hyland was diagnosed with Kidney Dysplasia when she was 9-years-old, and many daily activities have been painful for her, especially on the set of ABC’s “Modern Family” where she stars as Haley Dunphy. Sarah revealed the story in the new issue of Seventeen Magazine, and she also spoke with ABC’s “Good Morning America” about it. Here’s what Sarah revealed to GMA:

I would be in a lot of pain a lot of the time. If I didn’t get, like 12 hours of sleep — It felt, like, none at all. I try and make it so that Haley is always sitting down. If you notice, she’s always sitting down a lot…or leaning and texting. When Haley walks up the stairs that’s like my work out for the week. You know, if you’re sick, you still go to work. And in between takes, you sit down, or you lay your head down or something.

Luckily Sarah’s father was a perfect match and was able to give Sarah his own kidney. Sarah’s boyfriend Matt Prokop has been a huge help to her during the recovery process – aww! Be sure to let us know if you pick up a copy of the Seventeen Magazine issue and read more about Sarah’s story!

The Disney Parks Blog has alerted fans that a new attraction is on its way at Disney’s Hollywood Studios called The Legend Of Captain Jack Sparrow. Here’s what Jason Roberts, a show producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, revealed about the upcoming attraction:

This is going to be an immersive experience. We’ll really delve into the story of Captain Jack Sparrow and put our guests in the middle of it all in new and exciting ways. Story is always the most important thing for us at Walt Disney Imagineering, but we’re always looking at new ways to tell the story that our guests have never seen before. In this attraction, we’ll let you walk in the footsteps of Jack Sparrow. It’s not ‘the making of,’ not ‘behind the scenes’ … it is really a first-person experience. We worked with the archives as well as the filmmakers while they were shooting the last movie. And as a fan, I just loved sitting through those films again and again, going through all the details and leveraging them for this new experience. It’s really been a blast.
